Oooh, very nice! Lowered a bit, too - 383 or 440? Bet it sounds fantastic, too!

383 2bl, so nothing too crazy. Sounds alright though, got a nice rumble to it. However the exhaust is in dire need of a reconstruction since as is right now it basically scrapes on everything! Why can’t the previous owner just get it right when they try to do something?!

That driveway is so American, you probably tell your neighbors what to do!

It’s the oil stains that give it away right?

Now, just left to finish up the Poncho and my life will be complete.

The stains help. But you’ll never beat my German cars at that part :D

People say cars like that have their own zip code. Which isn’t true. They have four.

My grandpa had a new 65 Newport, was probably his favorite new car of the era. Traded it in for a fuselage model, but ended up liking the old one more. These were very sturdy solid cars.

Did you just buy it then? If so, congratulations! And, I’m curious what modernization it may have (if any)? The lowered suspension and big wheels lead me to think it may have a few more goodies down under (?).

And, the previous owner never gets it exactly right, that’s where you come in! Time to make it yours!

Weeeeeell sorta. This car belonged to a good friend of mine who basically bought it, couldn’t get it to run right and then proceeded to put the car in storage over the next 4 years.

Since I have been looking for a full size cruiser for some time now I asked him it it was possible for me to buy it off him since it’s basically just rotting away anyways. He agreed to sell it for the same amount he bought it for so no major loss for him and he has one more car space.

The thing is after spending around a day getting the car out of storage and getting it to run again he then promptly changes his mind! Now he doesn’t want to sell it anymore (he said it wasn’t because we got it to run alright but he changed his mind awfully close to that point...

Anyways he absolutely isn’t the total asshole I make him out to be so he told me I could have the car for the summer and drive it around as much as I’d like, so that’s nice. I’m also fairly certain I can get him to change his mind if I just keep nagging about it a bit more.

Yeah this isn’t exactly a car you “park”, it’s more of a ship you have to dock. It’s literally impossible to fit inside the tiny little swedish parking spots without spilling over on all 4 corners.

Knugen! Had the flags on it specifically for Sweden’s national day, which we celebrate for some reason that no one knows about.

Well, the fact that he was so disinterested the last four years leads me to believe it will still be yours in the long run.

And, if not, he owes you SOMETHING for getting that car going right and keeping his $ from going down the drain on it!

It’s a nice looking ride - enjoy it as much as he lets you this summer!
